Put Yourself In Expert Hands...

Jo Inman Whitstable Physiotherapy

Joanne Inman graduated in 1990 with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy and spent 10 years working in the NHS gaining experience in a variety of settings including large teaching hospitals, G.P. surgeries and community hospitals before establishing the Whitstable Physiotherapy Clinic in 2000. She has forged strong links with the local G.P's and orthopaedic surgeons who regularly refer patients to the clinic.

Our experienced chartered physiotherapists are committed to achieving the highest possible standards of physiotherapy care in a professional, caring and efficient manner that reflects your needs.

We have all undertaken a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy, enabling us to assess your problem and make a diagnosis based on what you tell us and what we find on examination.

Physiotherapists working at the Whitstable Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic are members of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, are registered with the Health Professions Council and are members of Physio First - the organisation of Physiotherapists in private practice) and the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists.

Physiotherapy Organisations:-

The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) is the professional, educational and trade union body for the UK's 47,000 chartered physiotherapists, physiotherapy students and assistants. All Chartered Physiotherapists are bound by the society's Rules of Professional Conduct and Standards of Physiotherapy Practice regardless of whether they work within the public or private sector.

The Health Professions Council (HPC) is the regulatory body for many different health professions. Under current law only qualified practitioners registered with the Health Professions Council as Physiotherapists are allowed to use the title of "Physiotherapist". It is therefore important to establish that you choose a physiotherapist who is HPC Registered. You can do this by viewing the HPC Register at www.hpcheck.org and searching the physiotherapists list. All health professions registered with the HPC have to undergo Continuing Professional Development the same way as a doctor or nurse.

Physio First (The Organisation of Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice) is an occupational group of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, which represents the interests of its 4000 self-employed members. All physiotherapists in private practice are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and are registered with the HPC.

The Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP) is a clinical interest group of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. Its principle aim is the integration of acupuncture into physiotherapy practice for the treatment of pain and systemic illness.
